📍Location

The French Evaluation Test (Test d’Évaluation du Français – TEF) exam takes place at the new annex of the Alliance Française of Edmonton located at:
100, 11812–121 St NW, Edmonton, AB

Candidates are kindly asked to carefully check their exam confirmation for the correct location.

⏳Validity

The TEF is issued by the French Ministry of Education and remains valid for 2 years from the date of taking the test.

The price of the TEF Canada full exam is $390.

The price of the TEF CANADA - Listening and Speaking is $195

📅 Test results

Your results will be communicated by email 1 to 2 weeks after the exam. The virtual certificates will be sent directly by Paris CCI to the email address you registered with.

💻 Exam conditions

You will take the computer-based parts of the exam in group (Writing, Listening, Reading).

✉️ Official invitation

Once your registration complete, you will receive an email from us a week, at the latest, before your exam, with the instructions and details (hour,location,...)

✒️ Registration

Your registration will be completed once we receive both your form and payment.

🪪 No exam if

You won’t be able to enter the exam if you don’t have the ID you signed up with on the form or if you arrive after the exam officially began. In general, the exam starts at 10am. However these hours may vary, depending on the sessions.
(Note: On the day of the exam, we will take a picture of you to confirm your identity.)

✅ Responsibility of AFE

The Alliance française of Edmonton (AFE) is not grading the exam and cannot be held responsible for the results obtained by the candidate. All your answers will be sent to Paris CCI for grading.

There are different TEF exams. It is your responsibility to verify which one is suitable for your situation. To know which test is required please inquire with the immigration services or the appropriate institution. 

Step 1 - Selection of the Appropriate Test

Read about the requirements for your situation, our policies and the candidate guide available here (in French). Remember, the Alliance Française of Edmonton and its staff are not liable for your test choice. For any doubts, consult the immigration services or a relevant authority.

Please note that when new test dates are released online, a high volume of traffic may cause temporary technical issues or system bugs. We are not responsible for any inconvenience resulting from these disruptions; however, we sincerely apologize for any inconvenience this may cause.

Step 2 - Next sessions & registration dates

Register online: Purchase online your exam. (Enable only during registration period. Seats are limited.)  Please enter all the information in the form.

Please note that if your request concerns TEF or TCF exam dates, you will not receive an individual response either by email or by phone.

We understand that securing an exam spot can be stressful, and we sincerely appreciate your patience and understanding. Our team is currently working to improve the registration system, as the number of candidates has grown significantly. New exam dates will be posted online as soon as they become available.

Unfortunately, exam bookings cannot be made in person or by email, and our reception team does not have additional information beyond what is published here. Step 3 - Registration Confirmation

Upon successful submission of the form and payment, you will receive an email from us a week, at the latest, before your exam, with the instructions and details. Don't forget to check your spams and junk emails! Option 1: Prep courses (not a language course). We offer 2 prep courses in collaboration with PrepMyTef:

• On your own ($80): you will have access to a dedicated website with mock tests, grammar and vocabulary lessons and pointers for the test…) .

or

• With a teacher ($235): you will also have access to this dedicated website, but we will add 2 hours of private course with a teacher (who also happens to be a certified TEF examiner!) to give you an opportunity to work on the Writing and Speaking parts of the exam. • Use the tutorials to familiarise yourself with the oral comprehension and expression sections of the TEF (in French).
