1815. Jean Valjean is released from prison, broken and rejected by all. Wandering without purpose, he finds refuge with a man of the Church, his sister, and their servant. Faced with this act of kindness, Jean Valjean wavers and, in this suspended night, must choose who he wants to become.
Based on the novel Les Misérables by Victor Hugo.
