Bring French culture to your classroom!
The Alliance Française of Edmonton offers interactive French workshops to schools (cooking, theater, creative writing,etc.), with the
option to organize cultural workshops either at your school or at our cultural center in Edmonton.
Our dedicated instructors will customize a program for your group and deliver exciting, engaging workshops for your students. Through a
variety of interactive activities, children will immerse themselves in both French language and culture! The goal is to build confidence in
speaking French in an engaging and immersive setting.
What we offer:
- A variety of engaging themes to suit your students’ interests;
- Certified and experienced French instructors;
- Small groups (up to 12 students) for maximum interaction. For larger groups, we can provide two or more instructors.

- 1 group of 12 students max. = 1 AFE instructor + 1 teacher from your school
- 13 to 24 students = 2 groups = 2 AFE instructors + 2 teachers from your school
- 25 to 36 students = 3 groups = 3 AFE instructors + 3 teachers from your school
We encourage schools to bring their students to the Alliance Française of Edmonton to explore our library and fully experience all that we
offer. If visiting us isn't possible, our instructors are happy to come to your school in Edmonton for an additional fee.
Programs catalog: all year round
Culinary workshop*
Students will get the chance to bake delicious and well-known pastries from the Francophone world while immersing themselves in French in a fun and interactive way. Through this hands-on experience, they will not only discover new flavors but also expand their vocabulary and confidence in the language.

Creative writing
Students will dive into the world of storytelling and discover the joy of creative writing in French. Through fun and engaging activities,
they will develop their writing skills, enrich their vocabulary, and express their ideas with confidence. This workshop is a great
opportunity to let their imagination run wild while exploring the beauty of the French language!
Theatre workshop
Immerse your students in the world of theatre and imagination! During this workshop, they will play, laugh, and create an original story together, all while developing their French. Through engaging drama activities, they will practice speaking with confidence, build teamwork skills, and let their creativity shine on stage. This unique experience offers them the chance to explore new ways of expression while deepening their connection with the French language!
Painting
Students will immerse themselves in the vibrant world of painting and discover the joy of expressing their creativity in French. Through fun
and interactive activities, they will explore various painting techniques, develop their artistic skills, and learn to communicate their
ideas with confidence. This workshop is a fantastic opportunity for them to unleash their imagination while appreciating the beauty of the
French language!
Jewelry workshop
Spark your students’ creativity through jewelry-making! In this hands-on workshop, children will discover new French vocabulary, practice their communication skills, and express their imagination while designing beautiful, one-of-a-kind pieces to take home. This activity combines artistic expression with language learning, making it a fun and memorable way to connect with French!
Board games
Bring a classic French tale to life through play and creativity! In this engaging workshop, children will explore Jacques et le haricot
magique while developing vocabulary, grammar, comprehension, and storytelling skills through a fun board game activity. This workshop
combines imagination, hands-on creativity, and language learning, giving children a playful and memorable way to connect with French!
