Group courses for adults are available in three duration options:

• 24 hours for $375
• 16 hours for $280
• 12 hours for $190.

For children courses, two options are offered:

• 16 hours for $243
• 8 hours for $162

Additionally, for group courses, you can benefit from an Early Bird discount by registering up to one week before the session starts.

For adult courses, if you are not a beginner, we encourage you to take an online placement test, available on our. Once completed, we will contact you for a free phone interview lasting approximately 10 to 20 minutes.

For children, to arrange an online placement test with one of our teachers, please email us at info@afedmonton.ca. This placement test is free and takes about 10 to 20 minutes.

For private courses, we offer two options: 12 hours for $720 and 40 hours for $2,120. Semi-private courses (2 to 3 students) cost $900 for 12 hours and $2,720 for 40 hours.

Prices do not include the cost of books and the yearly membership.

Our courses are organized into 5 sessions per academic year, from September to June. Each session lasts 8 weeks, and registration opens 4 to 6 weeks before the session starts.

We provide courses for beginners, intermediate, and advanced learners throughout the year. If you do not find a course that matches your level, we can also offer private lessons. French courses are available for children from the age of 3.

Registrations open one month before the session begins. You can also enroll in a course up to three weeks after it starts. Individual catch-up sessions will be arranged for those joining after the course has begun.

The Alliance Française bases its teaching approach on the latest methods and the CEFR (Common European Framework of Reference for Languages), a global standard for language learning. The textbooks used for adult and children's courses are from French publishers (Hachette, Maison des Langues).

Once your course has begun, you are no longer entitled to a full refund. Please contact info@afedmonton.ca to discuss a partial refund. Be sure to read our terms and conditions carefully.

Adult course fees are tax-deductible, and you will receive a T2202 form in February. Please check the applicable conditions at: https://www.canada.ca/fr/agence-revenu/services/formulaires-publications/formulaires/t2202.html.

A minimum enrollment of 7 students is required to cover course costs.
If this minimum is not met, the Alliance Française of Edmonton reserves the right to shorten the duration of the course or cancel the class.

• With 3 or 4 students: 20 hours
  
• With 5 or 6 students: 22 hours
  
• With 7 or more students: 24 hours
  

We are an official exam center offering DELF, TEF, and TCF tests.

For TEF and TCF Canada exams, registrations open every month. For other types of exams, please contact us at info@afedmonton.ca.

DELF/DALF Junior and Adult exam sessions are scheduled at the beginning of the year, with registrations accepted at least two months in advance.

DELF exams are priced as follows:

• DELF A1: $180
• DELF A2: $180
• DELF B1: $265
• DELF B2: $185
• DALF C1: $380
• DALF C2: $380

For TCF and TEF Canada exams for immigration purposes, the fees are CAD $390 (TEF) and CAD $400 (TCF). For other types of exams, please contact us at info@afedmonton.ca.

Exam fees are non-refundable.

DELF and DALF Junior and Adult exam sessions are set by the French Ministry of Education. Please check the upcoming session dates.

TEF and TCF exams are offered monthly, once a week, and sessions open at least one month in advance for registration.

Due to regulations set by the official organizations managing the TEF and TCF exams, no registration is refundable. You can reschedule your exam within 48 hours of paying the registration fee; after this period, all sales are final. In this case, we recommend re-registering for a new date (note that you can only book a second date 30 days after your initial exam date).

We offer private preparation courses for various exams, including DELF, DALF, TEF, and TCF, taught by qualified instructors. Additionally, we provide access to the online platform PrepMyFuture, where you can practice for only CAD $65 (one-time payment for a 12-month license).

DELF exam results are usually sent by email about one month after the exam. We will notify you via email when diplomas are ready for pickup.

For TEF exams, the Chamber of Commerce sends results within 3 to 4 weeks after the exam date. For TCF exams, results are issued by the Alliance Française within 3 to 4 weeks after the test.

The Alliance Française of Edmonton offers a wide variety of cultural events, including film screenings, concerts, art exhibitions, conferences, creative workshops, theatrical performances, music nights, and more. We place a strong emphasis on Francophone culture and international cultural exchanges.

Yes, all our events are open to the public. However, some events may be specifically intended for Alliance Française members or those interested in Francophone culture. Please check the event description for details.

Most of our events require prior registration. You can register online via our website or, in some cases, through our partners’ websites. Some activities may have a fee, and payment is required at the time of registration.

The Alliance Française of Edmonton strives to make its events accessible to everyone. If you have specific needs, we encourage you to contact us in advance so we can ensure the necessary arrangements are made.

Most of our events are held at our center in Edmonton. We also organize events at various partner locations throughout the city. Venue information is provided for each event.

If you need to cancel your participation in an event, please inform us as soon as possible. Tickets purchased for events are non-refundable and non-exchangeable. Cancellations will not be refunded.

Most of our events are in French, but some may be bilingual, depending on the theme of the event.

Yes, we organize regular events throughout the year, as well as seasonal events that celebrate special occasions such as La Chandeleur (Candlemas), the Galette des Rois (King Cake), the Francophone Film Festival, Make Music Edmonton, the French Run, and other themed events related to Francophone culture.
