A portrayal of the life of Niki de Saint Phalle, from her exile from the United States to France in the early 1950s to her meeting with
writer Harry Mathews and her early modeling roles and fees. She soon confronts a past she cannot forget. Céline Sallette shines a light on a
major figure of Western feminism in her debut film, showcasing Charlotte Le Bon in a dazzling performance full of energy and vibrant
costumes. Through the lens of a biography, the filmmaker delivers a poignant exploration of trauma, in total contradiction to Proust and his
madeleine of childhood. It's a manifesto on art as a tool for salvation and redemption, with sequences of electroshock therapy in
psychiatry.

Elle est bientôt confrontée à un passé qu’elle ne peut oublier. Céline Sallette met en lumière une figure majeure du féminisme occidental dans son premier film, offrant à Charlotte Le Bon un rôle éblouissant, plein d’énergie et de costumes vibrants. À travers le prisme d’une biographie, la réalisatrice propose une exploration poignante du traumatisme, en totale contradiction avec Proust et sa madeleine de l’enfance. C’est un manifeste sur l’art comme outil de salut et de rédemption, avec des séquences de thérapie par électrochocs en psychiatrie.
